Our tipis in Ogmore Village by the sea are situated on Ogmore Farm, in the shadow of Ogmore Castle. A stones throw from the farm house which can provide you with breakfast and teas as Judith and Eric who live there run a coffee house. Within crawling distance is a fine country pub called The Pelican in her Piety. Within easy walking distance is the vast expanse of the Merthyr Mawr Warren, some of the highest Sand Dune Slacks in Europe and the great beaches of Newton and Ogmore.
Bridgend town is nearby with it's excellent train and bus connections. There's also plenty of shops if you want to take something home with you.
Horse Riding Distance from Tipis: You're there These tipis are situated on a farm which specialises in horse riding on the beach and in the dunes. One of the best locations in Wales for trekking There are horses to suit all abilities and a walking trek for the youngsters too.
Ogmore Castle Distance from Tipis: You're there Now a substantial set of remains and a beautiful local landmark, Ogmore Castle was built in 1100 by William de Londres as part of the Norman Invasion of Wales. The castle was last in use in the19th Century and had a range of uses, including a court of justice and a prison. Imagine the atmosphere having a BBQ outside a tipi in the shadows of this piece of welsh heritage.
There is another popular landmark just outsie of the castle walls, The Stepping Stones which cross the river and allow visitors a short walk to Merthyr Mawr Village and Europes highest sand dunes These photos may better expain the beauty of these fantastic landmarks.
